In partners we tried to sequence the following events:
- The Battles of Lexington and Concord
- The Battle of Saratoga
- Valley Forge
- The Battle of Yorktown
- The Treaty of Paris
(Download PPT: Sequence Key Revolution Events)
To check the sequence we passed the events out to a few people and had them line up at the front of the class. They each had to tell us a little about each event. Those students then passed them back out to another student and we did it once more.
Students returned to their seats and back in partners you tried to list as many advantages and disadvantages the colonists may have had for each of the Events (excluding the Treaty of Paris).
We played popcorn with the marker and individual students had to add advantages to the board in a circle map.
