Activity:

Reading

After viewing the drawing we discussed the definition of Constitution.

We read the first paragraph of the worksheet as a class and color coded it based on categories. Each sentence had to be highlighted based on the color the student chose for each category: Political, Social, or Economic.

The second and third paragraphs were completed with a partner.

The last paragraph was completed individually. We then discussed why each student chose the category they did for each sentence and they defended their choice.

Questions

Depending on time available we also wrote Level II questions for each paragraph. The answers had to be found in that paragraph.

Closing:

Answer the essential question in your journal.
