Today In Class: Lexington & Concord

Today we started class with 2 vocabulary words:

Ambush

Blockade

We then examined a quote from Patrick Henry:

No man thinks more highly than I do of patriotism… For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery… Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us; they can be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose them? Shall we try argument? The war is actually begun! … as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

We also watched Liberty’s Kids “Shot heard ’round the World.” I’ve heard that the video is available on Netflix currently from other students. So, check it out if you missed it.
